At the November general membership meeting of the Edmonton & District Labour Council I was excited to publicly announce that I will be running to be President of the Alberta Federation of Labour at convention this spring. After much consultation with my brothers, sisters and cousins in the labour movement and an extensive conversation with my family we all agreed that the time is now for our labour movement to change course.
My lifetime of experience in union & community organizing coupled with the past five years of leadership at the EDLC puts me in the unique position of being able to bring that change. The fact is, working people need us to move forward and make the changes necessary to ensure we are not left behind. It is clear that the time is now, and I am happy to stand as your representative in the fight ahead of us.
