With the Provincial election just around the corner I feel compelled to share with you a simple rule that has served me well throughout my life. If you want a government to represent working people work to get them elected. Workers are the only ones who can accurately represent your interests because they are the only ones who live your reality day in, day out. If you are getting mad at the bankers, lawyers, and connected elite for not standing up for you and your family you’re blaming the wrong people.
The late great Tommy Douglas told the story of Mouseland where mice kept electing cats and wondering why life was so hard. Naturally the cats made it easier for them, which meant it was harder on the mice. Blaming the cats for being cats just distracts you from the real issue at play.
That’s why I will unapologetically support workers who seek to represent workers just like I did last weekend when I door knocked for paramedic Cam Heenan in Leduc-Beaumont. Below is a list of candidates and ridings where working people are putting it on the line to fight for you and your family. If you’re in the area I highly encourage you to do what you can to ensure our government represents working people instead of a wealthy elite.
